Alycia Diane Bonnie Jean Austin

July 4, 2017

Alycia Diane was a perfect child for Jean and Richard Austin. She was a blessing from the Lord.

The AKA West Highland White Terrier was just a pup when her human parents adopted her into their family. She was named for Jean’s mother, sister, best friend and Jean! She had lots of names but even more loving relatives and friends. The family of three were close knit, doing everything together – including travel. And they were very happy for eleven years.

Playful, always loving and a loyal companion; Alycia commanded a place in the hearts of both Jean and Richard. Not too long ago, Jean became suddenly ill, and it was little  Alycia who instantly found Richard in another part of their home and brought him to Jean’s side – an act that saved her life.

The Austin family’s hearts are still healing from Alycia’s passing on July 4th. She will be missed, but will always be in their hearts and memories.

“Whoever lives in love lives in God”….1John 4:16

Our hearts will hold many precious memories of our dear little Alycia. We fell in love with her from the first day she came home and sat on Uncle Dick’s lap ALL DAY – a little furry white ball. How she loved to snap at bees and protect the homestead while spinning around and barking. She was Aunt Bonnie’s faithful companion in the kitchen – hoping for a bite of cheese. Scottish and “clannish” Alycia protested if anyone left the family circle of an evening. Always curious, Alycia loved to go places and look out the car windows. If left behind she would shake the throw rugs expressing intense disappointment! She rode “First Class” when Mommy and Daddy pushed her in her pretty pink stroller. Jean and Rick we grieve with you in your loss. We love you Alycia and will never forget you! – Aunt Bonnie and Uncle Dick

We were not around Alicia very much. However, she was a very sweet dog. It was cute how Jean and Rick would show her off in her carrier. She will be missed.
