Duke Riddle Williams was much more than an AKC seventh generation white German Shepherd of superior blood lines. Duke was a loyal protector, a companion and best friend to Buddy and Sandy Williams. Born on July 3, 2009, the precious white shepherd puppy could not have imagined the wonderful life that lay ahead for him.
Duke loved children, and his very special favorites were Katelynn and Kameron Riddle. Buddy and Sandy made sure that Duke wanted for nothing; and his dear friend, Clo, was really good at spoiling him! Each day was amazing and filled with joy, car rides with Buddy and love – but he truly hated fireworks (a little sad for a guy born one day before the 4th of July), and it was awful when those people nearby shot guns every day at dinnertime and on Sundays!
Duke passed away on April 30th. Buddy’s final thoughts for Duke are, “Watching you hurt and suffer was not fair, and letting you go was hard to bear.” Buddy and Sandy offer a ‘special thanks beyond words” to Dr. Todd Blair and Dr. Don Zehr of Hendersonville Veterinary Hospital in Flat Rock and the wonderful and caring staff at Shuler Funeral Home. Along with Buddy and Sandy, Duke leaves behind his pal, Roxie.
