Bear Brown

August 29, 2017

Lovable and silly Bear Brown crossed over the Rainbow Bridge on August 29th. Lover of car rides and walks with his dad Jerry, Bear took several trips with his people-family to Florida and Kentucky as well as hiked all the parks and the mountain near his home.

His favorite television shows had dogs in them. Bear’s excitement at seeing and hearing another dog on TV filled him with such joy that he would bark out his laughter and comments throughout the show! Such an important member of the Brown family, he was always keen to when his humans ate and showed his interest with immense drool.

Bear had talents! When he wanted a treat he would go to one of his humans who would ask him, “What do you gotta do?” and he’d put up a paw to let them know he truly wanted a yummy snack. He was an amazing spinner whenever he got excited. Possibly his greatest talent was being able to catch his own tail when in a full spin!

Bear’s humans were his world, but he truly loved his cat-brother, Cheddar. They were BFFs, and it didn’t hurt that Cheddar unwittingly shared his cat food with Bear.

Sweet Bear is survived by his human Dad Jerry, Mom Laurie, human-brother Tyler and his cat-brother, Cheddar.

From the Brown family:

He’s our big crazy Beardog and we love him and are going to miss him like crazy every day!

Memorials may be donated to Blue Ridge Humane Society in Bear’s memory

Dear Bear Brown, I didn’t have the privilege of meeting you personally, but I have seen your sweet handsome face and heard about many of your capers from your Mom, she loved you so much. I know you were a special dog, cohabitation with a cat is a awesome task for a Rottweiler. You were loved sooo much by your human family, you brought lots of joy to your Dad on your walks and always protecting your brother. They all LOVED YOU so very much Bear and I know they will miss you, be proud that you brought them so much happiness. I know without a shadow of a doubt where you are, YOU are running free (but you still can’t chase the cats) happy and without pain at the Rainbow Bridge. I know you don’t know me, but I was wondering if I could ask a small favor, if you see a red dog named Johny and a white dog named Mollie, their probably together and their pretty cool to hang with, could you give them a paw-five for me and tell them I love them!! I really appreciate it Bear. REST EASY BEAR!!!!!

Bear dog was a big part of the Brown family & a big part of our family also because we was his nana & gramp, he loved his family & was very protective of them. He was a smart dog, we always knew Cheddar ( the cat ) wanted in, cause Bear would let us know that Cheddar was on the other side of the door. He enjoyed coming to nana & gramps but he always made sure they didn’t leave him behind, when they were ready to go home he was the first one in the car & wouldn’t get out to say good by. He will be deeply missed. We enjoyed him for what few years he had on this earth. Good by Bear dog, it was a pleasure to be part of your family. Nana & Gramp
